Frequently Asked Questions

Where are we located & do you travel?
We are located in the Charlotte, NC area but we LOVE to travel anywhere. We travel for most of our weddings, we have photographed weddings in half of the states & 6 countries. We keep costs simple too. All you have to cover is flights (if necessary) & hotel after 100 miles from the Charlotte area. We will let you know travel fees before you book!

Who will be our photographers?
You will ALWAYS get Walter & Heather at your wedding (2 main experienced photographers). No worries, you won’t get a random second shooter at your wedding, you will already know us before the big day!

Will you help us pose?
Yes, of course! We won’t make you over-posed but no worries we will tell you what to do with your hands.

How long until I get my photos?
You get a preview up on Facebook and Instagram the night of your session or wedding. Then a few days after your session/wedding we will post a blog post of more photos. We will have you all the photos in 2 weeks, so no waiting forever to see them!

How many pictures do we get?
It depends a bit on the wedding and the amount of hours you book. Typically it’s between 600-900 images for our base package of 6 hours. We just throw out duplicates & anything that doesn’t turn out, so you will get lots of awesome photos!

Can I print the photos? Can I put them on Facebook?
YES! You get a print release every wedding & session we book. Feel free to post them anywhere & print them wherever you would like (we have some recommendations too we’ve tried!) It’s always great if you can give us credit when you post too!

Can I see a full wedding gallery?
PLEASE! We would love to send over some full wedding galleries. Though we love everything on our portfolio & blogs they are just a small taste of a full gallery!

What about custom wedding packages?
We do not have “packages”, we allow you to build your own based on your needs. You can also add-on to your package at any time, even after you book. We offer discounted packages for non-Saturday, military, and off-season (Nov to Mar) weddings, as well.

Do you offer wedding albums? Can we make our own?
Yes we do offer 8×8 20 page Flushmount Albums as an add on to our package. These include a leather cover, thick Flushmount pages which do not bend, and the album design by The Burks, along with 1 design revision. However you will have the printing rights so you are more than welcome to print your own albums as well!

How many hours do I need?
This depends a lot on the wedding day, especially how many locations events will be at. No worries we will help you out deciding on hours. We have a timeline questionnaire we send 2 months before the wedding, and then we send back a suggested timeline to help you plan. Most of our clients end up between 6-8 hours to cover the whole day!

Can you pencil me in?
We must have a signed contract & retainer to hold your date. As soon as we have this, your date goes on our calendar and is set in stone. We never book 2 weddings on the same day, so don’t worry about that!

How much do we pay & when?
1/3 of the package is due to reserve the date. Then the final 2/3 is due 2 weeks before the wedding date. If needed we do offer payment plans and are more than willing to work with you on your payments.

How do you accept payments?
We accept most major credit & debit cards online, we also accept checks, & cash.

Can I make photo requests?
Of course! We will send a timeline questionnaire out 2 months before your wedding to help you plan out photo timing & requests, along with get a family & bridal party list! We will make sure we have everything covered you are wanting!

Can friends and family take photos?
They are more than welcome to take photos anytime except during formals. During formals no one should be taking photos however, because people tend to not look at the camera at the right time. We want to take your photos as quickly as possible, so you can get on to the party!

What about Engagement, Bridal, or Boudoir Sessions?
We include an engagement session with every wedding to get you comfortable with how we pose before the wedding. This is great for both us and the couple. We get to know them before their wedding date and it makes everyone more comfortable with each other. You can see how we work and ask us any questions that day as well. Also, you are more than welcome to add-on a bridal or boudoir session to any package!

How long do sessions last and how many photos do I get?
Sessions are usually an 1 hour and usually include between 150-200 photos, but can depend session to session.

When do you schedule sessions & what time of day?
We schedule sessions Monday-Wednesday. There is something called a “golden hour”, and this is when we schedule all of our sessions. It’s an hour before sunset and it’s the perfect time for photos.

Do you have insurance?
YES! We have both liability & equipment insurance. If your venue needs a copy of this for your wedding, please let us know at least 2 months in advance!

Are you both full time?
Yes! This is both Walter & Heather’s only job. We LOVE doing it and wouldn’t have it any other way.

How much experience do you both have photographing weddings?
We have both been photographing weddings together since 2007 and we have photographed nearly 300 weddings together! We absolutely love working with each other and you will ALWAYS get both Heather & Walter at your wedding.
